JUST CALL

from Journal of Personality and Social Psychology

Have you ever avoided calling a friend because you didn’t want to bother them? Maybe they would enjoy being bothered. In a study of nearly six thousand people, researchers at the University of Pittsburg found people who reached out to call or send a note to a friend significantly underestimated the extent to which recipients would appreciate the contact. They say many people have lost touch with others in their lives and renewing the contact may seem daunting, but the study proves the recipient may appreciate the gesture. Authors say the more surprising the contact, the greater the appreciation. The study was published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology.
