How can you get a better night’s sleep?
With some forty percent of adults
reporting difficulty falling asleep at least
occasionally, a study from Baylor
University’s Sleep Neuroscience and
Cognition Laboratory may interest you.
Simply spend a few minutes writing a todo
list rather than cycling those items
through your head. The study, published
in the Journal of Experimental Psychology,
showed participants in the to-do list group
fell asleep significantly faster than those in
a group who were asked to make a list of
what they had completed that day. The
more detailed the to-do list, the faster
they subsequently fell asleep. One
possibility is that writing a to-do list frees
your mind and reduces worry, thus
allowing sleep to come easier.
