FRIED FOOD HAZARD

from BMJ

Up to one-third of adults in this country eat fast food every day and previous studies have linked greater consumption of fried food with a higher risk of type 2 diabetes and heart disease. A new study, published in The British Medical Journal (BMJ), confirms the health risk from fried foods in older women. University of Iowa researchers say postmenopausal women increased their risk of death from any cause, especially heart-related death by regularly eating one or more serving of fried food per day. The authors acknowledge that evidence about health risks from eating fried foods is limited and subject to debate, they suggest reducing consumption of fried foods and fried shell fish could benefit public health.
