RED MEAT BENEFIT

from journal Nature

Eating red meat has taken significant hits in recent decades of research. But a new study suggests a nutrient in beef and dairy could help our body fight cancer. University of Chicago scientists report the nutrient trans-vaccenic acid improves the ability of our immune system to kill cancer cells. The study, in the journal Nature, found patients with higher levels of the nutrient TVA responded better to immunotherapy. Because of the wide variety of food we eat, it has been very difficult to understand the benefits of specific nutrients. Going forward, researchers say their discovery may pave the way for a nutritional supplement to assist medical treatments for cancer.
