FRUIT JUICE VS. DIABETES

from Journal of Nutritional Science

There is growing scientific evidence that drinking one hundred percent fruit juice is not associated with an increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes. The latest study comes from the Journal of Nutritional Science. The study reviewed results from eighteen randomized control trials to evaluate the effect of one hundred percent juice from fruits, such as apple, berry, grape and pomegranate. The results support previous evidence that one hundred percent fruit juice has no significant effect on glycemic control. Because sugar intake is critical, people with diabetes may want to consult their healthcare provider for further guidance. The study was conducted by an independent laboratory on behalf of the Juice Products Association.
