NOT SO FAST(ING)

from Journal of the American Heart Association

Intermittent fasting has become a popular weight loss mechanism. However, results of a six-year study suggests reducing total calories may be more effective. The study, from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and published in the journal of the American Heart Association, says eating less overall and fewer large meals may be more effective than restricting meals to a narrow time window, such as intermittent fasting. Researchers considered a variety of timing of meals, but found none associated with weight change during the six-year study. As you might expect, the study showed daily large meals over the six years were associated with increased weight, while smaller meals were associated with weight loss.
