HOW MUCH IS TOO MUCH?

Smartphone use by teens has been the topic of a number of scientific studies, with generally negative results linked to the most time spent on smartphones. Data from more than fifty thousand teens in South Korea reported in the U.S. journal PLOS ONE adds to the negative results. It suggests more than four hours of daily smartphone are associated with mental health risks among teens. Those risks include psychiatric disorders, sleep issues and eye problems. Again, those potentially harmful risks were in teens who spent more than four hours a day on their smartphones. By contrast, teens who used their smartphones one to two hours a day encountered fewer problems than teens
