GOT (RAW) MILK?

from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health

Raw milk has become more popular in recent years with advocates claiming raw milk is healthier than pasteurized milk. An analysis prepared by researchers at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health casts doubt on the idea that raw milk is healthier. The analysis screened more than eighty journal articles relevant to the health risks and benefits of consuming raw cow’s milk. The results suggest risks outweigh benefits. Consumers of raw milk are nearly one hundred times more likely to get foodborne illness from drinking raw milk than from drinking pasteurized milk. Based on these findings, the researchers discourage consumption of raw milk, especially among vulnerable populations such as the elderly, people with impaired immune systems, pregnant women and children.
