SOLID FOODS STARTING WHEN?

from American Journal of Preventive Medicine

When should babies be started on solid foods? The issue may be debated by medical professionals, parents and, yes, grandparents. Standard guidelines suggest starting babies on solid foods at six months and is meant to help guide mothers and other caregivers. However, new research from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health concludes four different guidelines may lead to overfed and overweight babies. The study used computer simulation since testing the impact on real babies could raise ethical issues and risk over or under feeding babies participating in the tests. Results of the study are published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine.
