MORE SALMON, PLEASE

from The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition

Eating foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids are traditionally associated with cardiovascular health but a recent study, covering more than two thousand people for eleven years shows overall life expectancy increases from regularly including oily fish in our diet. The study, published in the The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, suggests higher levels of omega-3 acids in the blood increase life expectancy by almost five years. Authors say their findings are not insignificant, since it reinforces the idea that small changes in diet can have a much more powerful effect than previously thought. Further, that it is never too late or too early to make these changes. The American Heart Association recommends eating oily fish, such as salmon, twice a week for the health benefits of omega-3 acids.
