100 Deadliest Days

from AAA

We are in the “one hundred deadliest days”—the period starting with Memorial Day during which deaths involving teen drivers historically climb by sixteen percent per day. The AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety has released a study confirming that nearly sixty percent of teen crashes involve distractions, along with a disturbing trend among teens using texting or social media while driving. Another finding of the AAA study is that two-thirds of people injured or killed in crashes involving teen drivers are not the teens themselves—showing that teen drivers involved in unsafe behavior can be a risk to everyone on the road. Thus, it is important to regulate their actions when driving. Keeping cell phones out of the hands of teen drivers is a top priority for AAA.
