High blood pressure is known as a silent killer—that even if you feel healthy, high blood pressure is a strong risk factor for heart disease—more in women than men. Norwegian researchers reported in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology that women with just mildly elevated blood pressure in their early forties have a two-fold risk for heart attacks in their fifties compared to women with normal blood pressure.
