DON'T WORRY, BE HAPPY

from journal Cognitive Therapy and Research

In every life we have some trouble When you worry you make it double Don't worry, be happy. Those are more than just lines to a song. They make up one half of medical advice from doctors at an anxiety clinic in England. The rest of the recommendation is to go to bed earlier. They wrote in the journal Cognitive Therapy and Research that people who sleep for shorter periods and go to bed very late at night are often overwhelmed by negative thoughts than people who keep more regular sleeping hours. Subjects for this study were college students, and a researcher who worked on the project said making sure that sleep is obtained during the right time of day—meaning night—may be an inexpensive and easy way to intervene for people who are bothered by intrusive thoughts.
